Nottingham City: Popular Places to visit
On the search for places to visit in Nottingham City? We know how stressful it can be to find the right place to visit when planning a day or even trip. So look no further, we have listed some popular places to visit and what to do on your next date or day out with family and friends.
Travelling to Nottingham
First things first, how are you planning on getting to Nottingham City? We recommend trying to get the train in if you live 30 minutes to an hour away or more. This way, you can enjoy yourself and have a drink if desired. If you aren’t planning on getting the train and look to travel by car or motorbike, the best place to park would be at one of the NCP Car parks located on the A6008.
We’d recommend NCP Maid Marian Car park as the views here are beautiful at the top looking over Nottingham and you are next to a shopping centre. The car park is 24 hours and costs up to £5.30 for 24 hours, depending on/off-peak rates. However, if you are looking to get closer to Nottingham City itself, try the NCP St James Car park. Rates are more expensive here with 1 hour costing £3.20 but you won’t have to walk far to reach the heart of Nottingham.
Try an Escape Room
Now if you and your friends have never tried an Escape Room and are looking for 1 hour of excitement, nerves and mysteriousness; you must book on at Escapologic. From experience, they have a selection of Escape Rooms that take you to another world. You will have to think on your feet and work together to solve multiple puzzles, with clues, to escape within 1 hour. Each Escape room has its own story to tell and you won’t want to leave, but you must!
Looking for a place to eat?
If you are hungry or need to plan in some luxurious food within Nottingham City, get a table at George’s Great British Kitchen. Just off the old market square, this restaurant is an up-market Fish and Chips restaurant that provides a variety of meats, salads and English/American food for you to choose. From our experience, the fried chicken and waffles were delicious, and the rosé wine was very refreshing. Take your family and friends somewhere new or have your next date in the candle-lit space of George’s Great British Kitchen.
Sit back at the Theatre
Also situated in the heart of Nottingham City is the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall. If you have kids or grandparents, there is nothing more inviting than a family theatre production suitable for everyone. With bars and cafes within, you can order drinks before finding your seats and relaxing as you watch the latest performances. A theatre is always running different themed performances, shows or musicals; making it the perfect entertainment for the evening.
